Part of the process of developing a new logo for a client is providing them with the proper files for a wide spectrum of uses. As part of a complete branding package, I provide clients with print ready vector files, logos for web use, and branding guidelines that outline: proper logo use, acceptable colors, black and white use, and accompanying alternative logo marks. A branding package allows a client to be certain that they'll always be putting the right foot forward when dealing with various vendors on all types of marketing projects.
Many times clients find themselves needing their logo in a vector format and all they're able to provide is a low-resolution jpeg or gif that they've taken from the Internet. For these needs I provide my clients with flawless vector conversions. While other designers may choose to use built in tracing options I prefer converting by hand using the pen tool to produce exact vector work for my clients. While it may take more time, the results are undeniable. In addition to complete vector conversions I also provide clients with vector resizing, re-coloring, and the ability to add or delete elements to/from a logo or image.
As a free service I provide potential clients with an evaluation of their current identity. I let them know what I think they're current strengths are and any facets that I feel can be improved upon. Many times a complete rebranding initiative is not required. However, there may be one piece of the puzzle that just doesn't fit.
